At the moment  I am getting about ten very good pictures for every one hundred I take, I expect that will improve as my skills operating my Nikon D5000 and the telephoto lenses improve plus a bit of luck always helps to get that special shot and you never know whats going to happen next at the harbour breakwaters.  I also have a Meade ETX land telescope with an adapter plate for the Nikon that I can get very detailed pictures through up to about 10 miles.
